We understand that many parents are working parents. However, supervision on the premises will be from 8.50 am onwards, at which time the whistle will be blown and children will be able to enter the school. You should be aware that if you bring your child to school before 8.50 am the school cannot accept responsibility for supervision. You may, therefore, wish to stay with your child until the whistle is blown.
Our duty of care ends at 3.15 pm (3.25 pm at Key Stage 2) and children are the responsibility of parents after that time. Children should go to the school gate, but if their parent or guardian is not there he or she should return to the school and report to a member of staff. We ask that parents, who maintain arrangements for collecting children, impress upon their children that they must stay in or return to the school building if the person collecting them has not turned up. We also ask that in circumstances such as these, parents and friends do not offer to take another child home without first informing the school. It can be very distressing if a parent arrives late and their child is not waiting. Uncollected pupils are brought to the dining room until a parent arrives.
Key Stage 1 children should always be dropped off and collected at the classroom door by an adult. Staff will not let an infant child leave at the end of the school day unattended.
If however, an emergency situation arises and children cannot be collected on time you should telephone the school immediately.
Please take care when driving and parking around our school. We have produced the following guidance on the one way system that is operational around the school during drop off and collection time. Please read and take note of the guidance, it is produced with everyone’s safety in mind.
