On Wednesday we had a lovely time taking part in Outdoor Learning Day.  In English we have been reading Leaf Man, so as part of this we went outside and made a leaf man and described it.

In the afternoon we went outside again to make tree spirits out of mud, leaves, stones, twigs, etc.  Enjoy a selection of photos from this day.

Week Ending 12/10/18

This week in Science we did an experiment.  Teddy got wet playing in the rain so we needed to work out what material would be best to make an umbrella for him.  We put Teddy in a jar and put each material on top.  Then we put 4 drops of water on each material to see what happened in the water.  We tested plastic, net, cotton and paper.  Ask your child which material was the best.

Week Ending 5/10/18

In Maths this week, Year 1 have been learning about shapes and their properties.  We have also been using Venn diagrams to sort shapes into groups and what happens when shapes show properties of both groups.

Week Ending 28/9/18

In Maths, some of us used dominoes to find 1 less than a number

Week Beginning 17/9/18

Our Topic this half term is Islands.  Today we were looking at the Island of Coll.  We found out that it is near the Hebrides.  We had a go at thinking where the features and places of special interests would be.  Some of us wrote a key.
