Governors have a general responsibility to parents and the Local Education Authority for the effective management of the school. They act within the framework set by the national legislation and Local Education Authority policies.
There are three elected parent governors, one staff governor, one Head Teacher governor, one LA appointed governor and six co-opted governors. Our governors take a very close interest in all aspects of school life. Their role is to support the Headteacher in determining the strategic direction of the school and act as a critical friend.
Formal meetings of the full Governing Body take place five times a year. Committees meet regularly and discuss finance, personnel, curriculum, premises, pay and travel.
Full Governing Body meetings receive reports from the Headteacher and each committee; they discuss educational matters at local, county and national level.
